Seasonal assets

Still plays with Trainz
Although I have been a Trainzer for about ten years and created several routes and scenarios, I must admit I have not kept up with all the new innovations:o. The seasonal assets intrigue me. Do they work? Do they change with changing seasons? Do you have to set the season in Surveyor or do they automatically change with the actual calendar? Hope someone won't mind teaching an old dog new tricks.

When you set the date the treez will act accordingly to the season. Well, some of them anyway. You have been around for a while. I remember some of your routes which were very good. Still enjoying trainz. It's a way of life.

Thanks baz. Apparently not many use seasonal assets considering the lack of response to the post. I am still creating scenarios and currently testing the new SCS system being developed. Hope to be turning out several new scenarios in the very near future.

Seasonal assets are great - four routes in one almost. I've converted most of my routes. Sadly it does seem to have been a feature largely ignored by the community, though it's a far greater step forward than multiplayer IMHO and something N3V should have got far more praise for.

The biggest drawback is that there is no support within the game for seasonal splines.

Thanks for responding. I agree they do seem to be ignored, example this thread. I like the idea of four routes in one and am considering converting my routes. A question; have you had good luck with the assets changing with the seasons? When doing some testing it seemed like I was getting only summer and fall foliage. How about you?

Thanks a bunch Pencil. This will be valuable information.
My wife and I had an enjoyable ride on the V&T up to Virginia City this summer.
Happy Birthday Nevada.

Oops - I'd lost track of this thread.

Thanks for the link Pencil42 - I've also been pointed there by Zec. As yet there is no example to study, and I haven't figured out how to construct the config file yet. I think that's a job for the weekend, rather than the dead of night though :)

In answer to your question Gary, I have summer, all and winter showing fine on all of McGuirels (deciduous) trees on the DLS.

Regards,

Anthony
