Searching the New Forums

Has anyone figured out how to search by all the threads one has posted in? I want to see a list of the threads I've posted in. Not a list of my specific posts. I can't figure out how to do this with the new forum.

Well, I clicked on your profile and then "find latest posts" and it gave me a list of those, but with the thread name at the top of each. Might be the best we can do. View forum post from the member's name hover menu gives the same.

:cool:Go to the Quick Links(third toolbar from the top), select from the drop down menu "Subscribed Threads." All the threads you have posted in will be presented, last one first.

Is the "Find latest started threads" option on your profile page what you're looking for?

I don't think so. I want to see the threads of anything that I might have posted in. With the old forum I simply searched all posts by user (my username). This would bring up a list of all threads I've ever commented in. I thought this was very useful. I could view threads I had interest in, most recent first. Is there a better way to review threads I have an interest in or post in? Maybe I want to review a thread I posted in that is 2 years old...

Then how about clicking the "Advanced Search" link below the search box near the upper-right corner of the page, choosing the "Search Single Content Type" tab, entering your username into the "User Name" field, then clicking "Search Now"?

This doesn't work. Notice you only have two choices. "Latest post" and "Threads started by user". Neither of these do me any good. I need to see a list of all the threads I have posted in...

Please refer to post #4. It works faster.

This doesn't work if you never subscribed. I never seen the value in subscribing to a post. I didn't need notified every time someone posted to the thread. I could simply search all threads I had posted in by my user name.

I tried that. It doesn't work at all if you haven't actively 'subscribed' to the threads.

My point exactly!

In advanced search enter your user name and in options select 'last visit' and 'all posts before'. That took me back to 2007

I just put your username in the search box then clicked on the magifying glass icon. Came up with three pages started by lots of different users.

A few people have posted that either the Search function itself is 'broken' or that some (unknown) amount of threads has been lost. I haven't seen any reply from N3V on this. So much for 'improvements' - hard on the eyes, archives lost, useful links (like to the DLS) no longer available. Hmmmf..I feel surly.

So they did...well that's something. It's the forum search that I'm mostly concerned about. With the Wiki being so hopeless, we rely heavily on the forum to get answers we can understand.
