To this day I still have trouble searching using more than word. What is the proper way to search using a phrase or say 3 words for example?

Using quotes or the "+" sign don't seem to work.

Phrase searching can be done by adding quote marks to the phrase.

For example "trainz service packs"

The + sign should work, but it may need to be directly in front of the word.

For example Trainz +2009

Similar with - (this is used to exclude words)

For example Trainz -2004

These can be used in various combinations.

For example Trainz +2009 -sp4 +"updating assets"

Are you sure about the quote marks? I've never got this to work. It always brings up many posts with just one of the keywords. Ultimately bringing up tons of posts that have no relation to my original search.

The best forum search engine is Google Advanced Search which allows searches for multiple words or exact phrases. It can also be restricted to search within a single site or domain, so if you restrict it to http://forums.auran.com/trainz/ then only posts from this forum are returned...

Thanks. I was not aware of this Google feature.
