Searching for Assets in Surveyor 2009

Trainz Luvr since 2004
I'm new to 2009. I've been using 2004 since it was released. With 2004 you could search using two headings (see red rectangle). These headings could be renamed using Trainz Objectz to one's liking, however they saw fit for organizing content.

This made it easy to drill down quickly then search for the type of asset you were looking without knowing the exact asset name. This worked for rolling stock also. Is there a similar way to search for content in surveyor for 2009? I only see one heading for surveyor in 2009. It looks like you have to search through your entire collection of assets.

I was hoping some old 2004 veterans that are also familiar with 2009 share how they search for assets in surveyor?

Thanks ahead for any help.

In the search filter - Icon on the bar at the top that looks like a funnel "Y", put in your search category. Type in the name at the top, or part of the name, and everything with that word will show up. Put in qualifiers, but selecting the categories, and you can narrow your search.

You can also create keywords for your assets in Content Manager. You can group and select the assets then assign searchable keywords. These keywords will work as part of the query in Surveyor.

It's earier to do than explain. I hope I didn't confuse you.

Thanks John.

I've been trying to figure that out for days. I would have never thought to look there. I just played around with it but it's still a little confusing to me.

Can I perform searches based of the "origin" & "type/company" fields I edited with Trainz Objectz for 2004 assets?

The Content Search Filter in Surveyor provides all of the search features that are in the Content Manager (CM2). Open it with the icon or by pressing Ctrl Shift F then click on the + in the circle to get two new side by side windown boxes. The left one offers most of the options that are in the left box in the Search Action Panel in CM2. The right one has most of the options that are in the right box in the Search Action Panel in CM2.
