Searching Auran downloads for passenger cars

Hey Y'all;

New Trainz user writing from not too far from UP (ex MOP) trackage along the Missouri River.

Having a blast with program, my father has it and got me 2006 for my birthday this month.

I have always liked passenger train operations, can't define why, just do: switching diners in and out; picking up or dropping off sleepers, RPO cars, express cars, that kind of stuff.

Just got into downloads on Auran's site and I've not figured out how to narrow Rolling Stock search to cover only the various types of passenger cars.
Tried looking by roadname and reporting marks as far as I could figure out how the function works - a of acronyms on there that I haven't a clue what they mean - what are KUID and UTC?

Specifically looking for SOU, SAL, ACL, L&N, PRR, CofG, streamliners and heavyweights.
And a few roads which might connect with them.
Locos and cabooses for those guys would go over well too.

Am quite happy with ATSF and MILW locos and cars came with the CD.
And the Seaboard System GP38s, seen a lot of those a bit back.
(although I was born in Santa Fe and SP territory)
Pleasantly surprised at the PCC streetcar too - have always liked them.

Anybody know if someone has Southern E8's in either green or black?
Early Milwaukee E6, E7, FT, locos in early grey and orange?

Do Know from a Yahoo Group for Virginia and Truckee 1869 era modelers a fellow who is doing V&T downloads on website named Carson Car Shops.

And then I need to practice how to do the downloads!

later,
FSW

Welcome to the forums!

UTC was one of the first versions of trainz, KUID is the ID number of an asset.

Try looking under the username Mcguirel, he's got some nice heavyweight cars. also do a title search for TOTC to get some heavy-weights from the turn of the century. Also some great cars from the Milwaukee Road Hiawatha by tume and somewhere on the Download station is a Milwaukee Road Hudson.

Depending on your connection speed, the content manager's Download helper (come with Trainz 2006) is one of the best ways to download. it finds most of the dependencies for things as long as they are on the DLS.

Ahh, many thanks.

Oh, left out N&W, once had chance to take a fan trip with 611, and later 1218. Sweet whistle on the J. Handsome loco too. And a brute that could haul quite a train up Blue Ridge.

Another pair of steamers I'd really like are PRR's Decapods and Especially their E6 Atlantics - there's a book PENNSY POWER that has a quote that they would move at near-Hiawatha speeds. Says they got a bit "tipsy" sideways motion that was a mite scary at 75mph; but, once up past 80mph, "they settled back down and could keep on climbing with no effort or effect on riding quality".
That is my kind of locomotive  And the 1800's 4-4-0 and 2-6-0 types as well.

Also said to be, "nicest hand fired engines ever built" and, "They were very easy on coal and water" by a PRR engineer.

Build a long layout where it can be opened up and just let run like the wind.
Well, would need some water troughs, they do have tender scoops.
Oh! That would be a cool screenshot with spray flying everywhere.

First time opened content manager the whole thing looked like something I'd get the hang of the day after I figure out both string theory and what it is that women really want.

Did figure out how to send a copy of route map e-mail to Dad. Yea!

Well, snot, content manager is having issues.
It's telling me "Cannot find your profile or you do not have a valid serial number.

Well, if I'm in here, and it has where my profile can be edited, I've got one of them.

And I've got this:
Thank You
The serial number --- has been successfully registered.

You will now have the ability to post to all Trainz forum sections.
For registering your copy online, you have been given a free 1 month First Class Ticket to Auran's download service. This can be activated via your Planet Auran Profile in the Tickets section.

Important: Serial numbers may only be registered once and are not transferable.

Registered Serial Numbers

Trainz Railroad Simulator 2006:

So the serial number is okay - wouldn't have been successful if it wasn't.

Also says something about entering profile details in the CMP settings.
All about that I can figure out is where it asks for username and password, and they're the same one that got me in here..

And in one place it's telling me this:
Your First Class Ticket is not active.
You can activate your ticket via your Planet Auran Profile.

And in another place it's telling me this:

I am sooooo lost.

I dunno.

Description:
This file is the INVISIBLE version of the visible 80-inch PRR E6 Atlantic's main drivers. This file is used to SYNCHRONIZE the steam sounds with the driver rotation. In the PRR E6 Engine file, bog0 and bog1 are the INVISIBLE bogies, centered over the visible driver's centerline.
But I"m lost again, popup box says it has to be opened with an application. And My Documents folder comsup. That's not an application.
Click on the other dowload thing and a beeping red bar comes up at bottom of Content Manager saying unable to connect.

I don't know what to do!

Well, no, there' more to it than that, Content Manager shows the PRR E6 nd H9 there at left but it still keeps beeping and flashing red bars at me.

I give up.
I quit.

Hi Curtis, closest thing I can find to a "kuid" is a place where is has User Id, there's one in there above something about default views and disabling sounds..
