Most times when I open Trainz it first starts to search for deleted and modified attributes which takes a few minutes. This is annoying when I just want to sit for 10 minutes to work on my layout and most of that time is taken up by said search. Is this compulsory or can I control when it searches?

The reasons this happens are quite simple. You are either shutting down your system too quickly, or something is causing Trainz to crash.

Hi,

If you're getting this frequently, you're probably shutting down your computer too qickly after closing Trainz.

Go to Options --> Developer Settings (I think that's what it's called) and tick the Show Database Process Window checkbox. Then, you should see TADDaemon.exe. After exiting Trainz, wait for that to close before shutting down your computer.

Also, if you cancel the database update it will just keep doing it until one completes.

I normally open Task Manager, go to the Process view, and watch it until TADDaemon.exe shuts down.

TADDaemon icon is on my task BAR when its gone its ok to shut down.
If you click on it you can watch it do what ever it does.
