SD40-2 Engine Spec

Get over it
I've been trying to find a spec that will fit in different locos. I use SD40-2's from n8phu, emcnally, sureshot28, and msgsapper, but in trying different combinations I found out that all the locos run at different speeds. The top limit is suppose to be 65 mph but most either go faster or slower. At the present time I'm using Chris's specs, 2:473973:100422:1 but can someone recommend a setting that will make all the different locos run at the same speed? As an example: using Chris's spec and choosing the default option the loco crawls along the track while selecting the SD40-2 enginespec the loco races past 65 mph in a very short time.

Actually, this isn't true, the maximum speed listed is the safe maximum speed of electrical equipment, all D.E. locos can go much faster then the safe maximum speed listed, if you have motors that can handle higher rpm's your going to go faster and motors that cannot handle high rpm's will be going slower, however people have over powered many physics in trainz because the values are in kilonewtons and people think the values look low so they fudge them to a high value which gives the fast acceleration your seeing, your best bet is to try and find a data sheet with rated tractive effort at various speeds and use that into trainz, I usually add 0.7 to 1.2 kn due to trainz axle resistance.

Cheers.

Thanks for replying and the info. After thinking more about this I've decided that it's not worth worrying about. I'll continue route building and playing with T:ANE.
