Screenshots..

I believe you post the url of your photo on photobucket etc to post up images :)
Bob knows the system - he's posted loads.

It looks as if he forum may have a problem at the moment. Shane's had problems editing posts, when others (including me) haven't.

Here's a test to see if I can post an Imageshack screenshot.

Yes, it works for me.

Edit: Edit is still working for me too.

Come to think of it, Patchy has been having problems posting Screenshots too in the Aussie SS thread, but most of us don't have a problem, maybe it's a random/limited issue that preventing a person from posting.

Also, I do recall Vern saying he had a problem replying to a post I made earlier - took him 3 attempts to do so. Not sure what the issue was in that scenario though.

Well gang the problem still exists..I recently have gone from build 49952 tp 61388..Could that be part of the problem??

The forums and trains are 2 different things, Forums run off a web based server, trainz runs off your local hard drive.

If you are using IE10 or IE11, check the compatibility mode for the auran.com forums and see if that helps.

Might be worth re-trying the screenshot posting, as the problem I was having with editing posts seems to have disappeared now, so your problem with being unable to post screenshots may well have resolved itself.

Bob,

I stopped using hostthenpost because the accounts were closed and images deleted if you didn’t use it monthly. No good when taking long holidays!:D It might have changed, but I haven't used it for years for that reason.

Try Imageshack again. There seems to be several ways of grabbing the correct string. This method works for me.

Select My Images tab. Highlight the thumbnail of the image you want to post to make the frame goes orange. Click on the top icon (the little i), to the right of the image. In the dialog box which then opens, highlight the full [img]http:code string with your LMB. Right click mouse to select the highlighted code. Copy, then paste into the Trainz Forum.

Cheers
Casper

I attempted to use Host & Post yesterday and it didn't want to know me. Tried again today and it worked fine. Go figure?
Bob

Would it have anything to do with an explorer update because i'm still having problems

Cheers,

Has anyone with this problem tried another browser? Sometimes IE xx can be weird when it comes to stuff like this. In addition Microsoft has added additional security which may be impacting the ability to link to another website in the forums. The new security patches may see this as cross-site scripts or linking and maybe breaking the ability to post a screen capture. This may also have something to do with Active-X either being broken or perhaps needing an update. Firefox or Chrome may allow this fine so it's worth a try, I'd think.

I gave up using IE a couple of years ago, it always gave me trouble when I tried to write to the Forum. I use Chrome instead as it is faster and more stable. Having said that, Host Then Post was giving me grief a couple of days ago but worked fine yesterday and seems good today. I am thinking H T P must have been been having server issues.
