Screenshots not working

I was planning on updating my web site with new pictures of my project. After hitting the screenprint button, I went to the Screenshot folder in TS2009 and there was nothing there. The screenshots just don't work.
I just reformated this computer and a clean istall of TS2009 with no other problems.

Is there a way to shut off and on the screenshot option?
I never had a problem with this before, any suggestions?

LWVRR, are you running the game in Directx ? I seem to remember reading a thread which suggested that screenshots dont work in this mode. Try switching to OpenGL (or vice versa if you are already running that mode) If your game wont run well with the alternative mode then just use this for your screenshots and switch back before playing the game

Thanks, I was testing modes yesterday and found I got better performance with Direct X. So yes, I'm in Direct X That must be it. I'll check it out.

I have the same problem......i tried all the suggestions and none of them work.

I have taken numerous screenshots over the last few weeks and can't find any of them......i've given up on it.

Hi LWVRR,

Try this:

Hit PrintScreen key

Open MS Paint

Paste

Save to folder and file of your choice

I always use this method and have 100’s of screenshots stored with no problem.

The “automatic” Trainz screenshot method is a pain on my system (Vista!) . I found the shots a while back looking in, “hidden files & folders”, but have never bothered since. Too much hassle changing the security levels. Top method is easy.

Hope this helps.

I did find that it works as it should in opengl mode but not direct X. I've used your method before but never in Trainz. I may give it a try. Thanks.:)

I think that the solution is simpler than that. Make sure that the screen resolution of your monitor is the same as the resolution set for the game in 'Options' from the splash screen. Right click on a clear part of the desktop and select properties. Check the resolution of your monitor then launch Trainz. Go into 'Options' and check the display settings. Make sure that the resolution shown here is the same as for your desktop.

I have read in a previous thread that if there is a difference between the two then this can effect screenshots

Thanks for the info, but my setting are matching. It just doesn't work in direct X. It was actually never an issue until I found that the program runs better in direct X mode.

Perhaps it something they can fix in SP4 if there ever is going to be one.

Ah .. how true!!

But well worth it. What a great hobby this is - far too addictive though!

Glad you got it to work. I do like a happy ending.
