Screenshot Problem

When I hit the print screen button then go to the screenshots folder, it says it's a tga file and it's also a unknown application, what should I do?

You mean like just the program paint or paintshed. I want to change it from a .tga file so i can upload my screenshots to imageshack

Seek out either "Irfanview" or "The Gimp" as these are both free image manipulation programs that can convert the TGA files from the screenshots folder into JPEG format that can be uploaded to Photobucket, Imageshack or your favourite web hosting site and then linked from your forum entries.

Cheers
Dave

Ok ill try those thx.:D

Also Paint is limited I didn't know that better versions of it existed.

p.s.I have no idia how this is going to turn out.

these are somethat more complected then paint it might take me a little while before I can get used to them. Thx anyway and i wish myself and other users happy days of playing around with this new software, allthough I can't help but think that we've derailed from the purpose of this thread. but I guess that we've finished it.:D

There are tutorials saying how, search the internet, or better yet:

it doesnt need to be a .tga file , try a jpeg file because it can be also used in paint. also i suggest using photobucket because it is quicker and more reliable. and u can start an album

I'd suggest getting the GIMP, opening up the file, then File>Save As... then click the little + icon next to "Select File type" and click "JPEG image" on the menu that appears. Then save the file.
