Thanks Jim. Actually, I think it was a tie with kingstonflyer.

As far as voting is concerned...I try to be objective and simply pick the 3 that I like best each week. This is often very difficult...but I try not to have a personal agenda. I think that's the way it should be. I do, however, have some bias against heavily photoshopped entries because I prefer realism. It's my own taste...nothing more. There have been one or two exceptions when I have voted for photoshoppers. They were special topics like Halloween or holiday cards. Hmmmm...here's an idea...how about railroad advertising posters?

The reason I continue to enter the competition is...I think it fosters creativity among Trainzers, which is the greatest strength of the Trainz program IMHO.

BTW, your voting style always comes over as totally unbiased IMHO.

In addition to what has been said, I wonder if there is any scope for automating and perhaps expanding the process.

I often see screenshots which rock, but their owners never enter.

Could there perhaps be a system of 1-5 rating on all images put up in all the screenshot threads? Members could then rank each one, if they chose to, just once. In that way, any worries about voting for friends/version/tactically would be eliminated. All members who post screenshots anywhere in the threads would be eligible, and everyone would be able to cast votes all the time they are browsing. There would be no need to seek out an ever descending thread, or having to remember to do it.

The down side to that may be the lack of a subject, making it less of an interesting challenge.

An announcement of the 3-2-1 winners each week (which really does need to be regularly restored) plus quarterly and annual results could be a nice surprise to a lot of members who currently go nowhere near the competition at the moment.

I agree with what you said, Fred about the voting criteria. I think that's the standard we should follow. It's a good thing to be aware of personal biases and preferences, and how they can influence your choices.

IMO, there is a lot of things to take into consideration when evaluating a screenie, but we can see things differently.

I'm not a fan a photo shopping either , other than a minor tweak.

Another abandoned contest....and again i state my oppinion that a weekly contest seems too much for those in charge with this, maybe a monthly contest would be better...
