A London, Brighton and South Coast Railway (LBSCR) branch line pre-1923.

The LBSCR was a significant railway system in southern England becoming a major part of the Southern Railway at Grouping on the 1 January 1923.

The (London to) Brighton Main Line was the first UK main line to be electrified throughout (by 1 January 1933), exactly 10 years after Grouping.
