yeah give them something of quality, as in anything by Alco or EMD. Actually some of the old Alcos, like the RS3 wouldnt look that out of place on a UK RR.

Good to see you boys know what you are talking about, NOT! The class 67 in the picture being towed by the CN monster is actually a GM EMD product!

Cheers
Dave

Yeah, I think you MIGHT want to research a bit more on that, cause it is actually an EMD product. The Class 66 is also a GM EMD product. I still prefer UK railways over US railways.

Isaac

Im well aware of that...
But trust me, the 67's and 66's are some of the worst sounding engines EMD has ever made, if you want to see EMD at its finest come to the US!

Yep, everyone over here knows that, they're horrible. Thanks for them America :o :hehe: . And actually nikos1 EWS is German now....

Robert

P.S British engines are better than all of yours!!! :hehe: :hehe:

I wouldnt say that, come to the US and it will change your mind like like visiting the UK did for me:)
I personally love both UK and US engines, sound wise you cant even compare the two, UK engines are known for their thrash and high pitched turbo's, US engines more for their loud bassy sounds, they both have their own appeal. While you can say UK engines sound better (some of them do, the HST is my personal favorite :) ) US horns blow two tones out of the water! :p

I would agree with ya on that as well :)....US Locos are by far the best...More to choose from and they look A LOT better then anything over seas....They look like Legos built by a 2 year old :hehe:

GE is just testing there locomotives overseas to make sure they work like a European train. Like the new Cadillac.

Woops i mad a mistake in being clear. I was referring to this post though now that ive reread it i realize that i misunderstood its meaning. my bad. Yes i knew that the locos in the pic were EMD btw.

Sorry, but I can say that Canada's locos and trains are the best...especially the GO Trains and the Subways...I've never been to the US...so I don't like their trains as much as Canada's.

I would say Australia's trains are the best, especially Victoria's and South Australia's! Long live the Broad Gauge! And EMD 'Bulldogs', such as the VR's S and B class diesels!

The US trains are the same as Canadian Trains........ Think of them just having different liveries.

S301: LOL.... this is hillarious. Yes, Australian trains do have something in them that makes them great. Like all trains, it is too the best. I don't usually play favourites with my trains. I treat them like the US says they do to their people..... equally(meaning I've been badly treated by the US gov't a lot)

Someone save this thread from being closed.... :hehe:. I think we should stop "waffling" or "flaming". WCL, now look what you've done . I know, I'm such a tease.

Well, I think that we can all agree (core this is optimistic) that older trains are the best and new ones are usually the worst like units, agree? Steam or Diesel....

Robert

P.S Oh and everyone in the US and the UK can agree that 66s are the worst and most boring train in the whole world. ;)

Yep pretty much, i havent seen anything that interesting being produced these days.
As for the 66's, the only thing worse is the MTU HST powercars and pretty much all DMU's. :p

And Steve get off yer A$$ and start the voting:hehe:
