The "Highland Limited" slows to pass Robbins on it's long trip to New Haven via Greenwood, Lumby, and Coyote Tunnel Junction. After Lumby, it's a 90-minute haul to Connecticut.

QUESTION FOR YOUNG TIMO, PLEASE.

G'day to you young Timo,

I just wanted to ask you a quick question regarding the weekly competition, as you seem to be supervising everything, nowadays.

I have downloaded and installed a few backdrops over this last weekend for quite a variety of different country routes, but, I wasn't sure if it would be considered cheating, if I submitted a screenshot in the future with a backdrop in it, your thoughts, please??

Thanks.

Something I'd like to know too. I'm using backdrops on my "screenshot route". As far as I know, though, I haven't used a screenshot with a backdrop in it.

G'day ex-railwayman,

To answer your question, why would it be cheating? Some people see backdrops as a way to improve route performances. The fact that it is the quick and easy way to scenify routes shouldn't be a huge factor in the images quality. I'm sure some people have posted screens with backdrops and many have secured many votes. I have never judged it to be a problem. We'll just have to wait how everyone else feels during the voting...

Cheers
Tim

That's fine Sir, I just consider backdrops to be an artificial enhancement which sort of gives the screenshot taker an unfair advantage over others, especially, if one was to submit something into a competition, but, if you are fine with that, then, OK, I may have done it in years gone by, but, just wanted clarification from you, now that you're in charge, and maybe others can take note if they were thinking along the same lines.

Thanks young man.

The Canadian Pacific Railway in the Mountains of British Columbia, Canada

An empty unit grain train heading back east to the prairies from the port of Vancouver, climbs the Illecillewaet Valley to Rogers Pass in the Selkirk Mountains of British Columbia, Canada. There is little arable land over the length of the Canadian Pacific Railway’s Mountain Subdivision. This small patch at Greeley, 5 miles (8 km) east of Revelstoke is surmised to raise horses for trail riding in the mountains, which is popular with locals and tourists.

World War 2, Alternative outcome

Amazing Screenshots!
Mine is based on a World War 2 alternative route(1 Board) I'm doing if the German's took over UK/USA. But never attacked Russia. Thus the resistance groups in the US are attacking this german Station, while a train in the long distance travels by towards the station. Gotta figure out that pixelation around them planes one day though/hoping I got this right.
