Screenshot of the Week: 4/1 to 4/15 (Warning: potential for large shots)

I talking for theme, if we can do with the real "N scale" reproduced on "trainz". Because my route is based on my brother's route. :p

But that's right, me too I don't understand the different "scale" on trainz. :o

I don't think simon is talking about N scale in Trainz...hey...what does that mean? I think he means that he is going to take a photo of his brother's N scale model train layout. His Trainz screenshot would be a reproduction of that photo. But then...what do I know?

Cheers,
Fred

P.S. Hmmmm...I think Bill just said that. :)

I think the scales are so when building a layout in let's say N scale, it measures out the distances in scale, so 1 real foot equals 160 feet in N scale. That is the only thing I've noticed about it, although I always use real scale. :hehe:
anyways, I like the idea of modeling a layout, but maybe all scales to allow more people to enter.

It is my impression also that he is asking about recreating a photo of a model railway layout as a Trainz screenshot.

I think I'll leave whether that would be okay or not up to Normhart (the suggester of this theme), if he sees this.

Regards,

Zachary.

I think that's another contest all together, recreating a model railroad scene with Trainz!

Yeah...I think that the intent of this topic was to reproduce real railroad photo rather than a photo of a model railroad layout. Surely, as Ed has mentioned, that could be a possible theme for a future screenshot topic.

Cheers,
Fred

P.S. Don't call me Shirley either. :)

I agree with Ed and Shirley, I think that doing a "N scale" => "trainz" would be a good theme for another weeks competition. JMO

You're right, it's what I want say ! Sorry I do my best to be comprehensible.
After if you want, you can use this for a next theme. :)

No worries Simon, you are French, we don't expect you to be comprehensible, just to have good taste! LOL

As to posting a picture of your brother's layout; the theme was "The idea is to recreate a real photograph as a Trainz screenshot." so if you want to do that this week it does not seem forbidden but the voting may go against you.

Surely it doesn't have to be a "N" scale does it? Couldn't it be any scale, Shirley?:hehe: Like this one here?

:hehe: That’s a funny movie - thanks for remembering me about it.

Have all a good Easter time. I will use my spare time to attempt to find a nice representative photo from the Milwaukee Road to take a nice Trainz-screen looking similar to it.

MTW

Hi MTW.

I can see “The Real” picture image, but only if I click on the link. It isn’t immediately appearing in your post.

What I think you have done is select the wrong link code from the RailPictures site.

When you RMB the image in RailPictures you need to select Copy image URL (not Copy Image).

In your post message you need to make sure you have
at the end of the code. The image should then appear without having to click the link.

If you are going to edit your post it is easier if you select the top left A/A_button when you are in the message screen so that you can see the code details rather than the image.

Regarding the model-railway-to-Trainz situation, I suppose that this could be made a future theme. I agree with any scale being allowed, not just N-scale. Since I've already stated in the opening post that next week's theme is rubbish, and I don't think that a model-railway-to-Trainz theme is rubbish, ;) I think I'll make that a two-week theme from April 22 to May 6. Hopefully Simon and Shirley won't mind.

Regards,

Zachary.
