Hallo,

here comes my contribution.
The screen indicates Milwaukee Road’s four boxcab unit number E25 (A+C+D+B).
The Milwaukee Road operated several combinations of boxcab electrics but the four unit combinations used to be the most powerful units of that road.
Boxcab unit E25 (A+C+D+B) mostly had been assigned for mid-train-helper service at the steepest grade of Milwaukee Road’s transcontinental mainline between Beverly and Kittitas, Wa.
The screen shows Boxcab unit E25 coupled into a westbound freight about 50 cars behind the leading power shortly before the train starts moving.

The theme of this week is “big ugly locomotives”.
Well I don’t find the boxcab electrics that ugly, but between the more – less streamlined designs of our day, a lot of people would probably call these locos ugly.

Your’s TUME

:)

i saw many people saying while posting their screenshots that"they are not ugly"
if they are not ugly then why u are posting them bcz according to theme you have to go for ugly but here on one side they are posting pics as ugly but also saying they are not ugly!!!!!!!!!!

they may be deemed "Ugly" by the general public (the train-loving general public anyway) but personally you see under the veneer to what they really are: like my K-10 2-8-0 or Tume's big, brutish Boxcabs for instance. I'll admit, the EF-3 boxcabs like E25 up there (I think that's their class) aren't exactly the Acela Express or the Dreyfuss Hudson, but to me, they're beautiful in a brutish, beast-of-burden way. When you want raw power on the Milwaukee electrified lines, you called her and her sisters.

Well they are ugly but in a beautiful way!

If I'd participated in this weeks competition I'd have done Boxcabs too. As Sawyer811 said they are brutish.

Edit: Oh, what the heck.

I happen to think that the SD70ACe is one of the ugliest locomotives in the US. It does, however, look somewhat okay in a UP Flag scheme rolling past a grain field with 5000 tons of grain in tow.
