Screenshot of the Week: 11/20 to 11/27 (Warning: potential for very large shots)

Euphod.

I Had done exactly as you suggested but did it again (just in case I did it wrong the first time) but got the same result,it showed a thumbnail in the preview but only the URL when saved.
This is my first time using Photobucket but not having any luck.
Thanks for your help.

NormP.

Good one, Ed! Nice work! :)

@NormP: I do not use Photobucket, but on the page for your image at Photobucket, there may be a box labeled "Forum" or "Forum Code" or something like that. Look for it, and if you find it, select all of the text in that box (which may happen automatically when you click in it), and copy it. Then, when writing your post on the forum, paste that code into your post text.

Regards,

Retro.

This is my first attempt at a screenshot, so if it doesn't work - my apologies in advance.
edit - I hosted on photobucket - tried both the 'direct link' and the 'HTML link' and the picture didn't show - end edit.

It appears you didn't copy the whole url. If you copy the "Direct URL" from photobucket and paste it in the prompt that pops up when you click this button:
insertimage.gif
it should show up, just make sure what you pasted starts with: "http://" and ends with ".jpg" (or ".gif" .png" ".bmp")

Peter,
when I copied the Direct Link it only sends you to my album - i.e. there is np *.jpg in the copied text. I have manually added the pic name and will see what happens.

Hello FSP.

The rail bridge is BrueckeNr4A kuid:164998:1042255

The turbulent water flow is an almost buried animated (with sound) 50m waterfall kuid:78193:200011 with just the top of the flow showing.

The “dam” is my take on a river sluice gate which I made in Surveyor using a variety of available objects. I was looking for a set of river hatches, but couldn’t find anything so I built it from bits I already have. It’s probably easier to illustrate the parts:

a. This is a hand water pump placed twice. kerkut kuid:128184:28276

b. A short piece of rusty trackside pipe spline. cxx W Gestaengeltg.3m alt kuid2:243555:90041:1

c. Trackside concrete conduit box (Hungarian) kabelcsatfej kuid:128184:28640

d. Wall spline. Wall ffest cob low kuid:173173:3066

I can’t access the DLS to check, but I’m pretty sure some came from there. If they are third party just cut & paste the descriptions and/or kuids into Google. That should find them for you.

I set the separate water levels first, then built the parts at the split level water tile join. Once finished I then looked for a suitable texture to place under the water at the lower more turbulent body of water. I found scrub2 kuid:46819:21002 gave the best effect for the “rough” side and smooth fine grass under the higher calmer area .
