Salt mine commodities

I am currently modeling a salt mine. Looking at photos of an actual mine (Cargill in Cleveland, Oh) I see tank cars in their yard as well as some spotted inside the building. I'm wondering what they use these for?

Based upon this story, the tank cars are likely carrying heavy machine oil for the equipment in the mine to protect moving parts from corrosion caused by the environment of the mine.

There are a lot of tank cars. That's a lot of oil!

it could also be other things depending on the mine. some mines use liquid solvent like water to mine the salt and transport it as brine (solution mining).

It's Cargill in Cleveland. Underneath Lake Erie and next to the river.
