Hard drives do tend to fill up over time, but so would your garage if you kept chucking stuff into it and never cleaned it out!

Trainz downloads do not take up huge amounts of space (unless I gueess you download every single item from the DLS, needed or not).

I would suggest you delete any files and programs you no longer need, use Windows Control Panel, Add/delete programs (for program files), and try a Windows disc cleanup to get rid of other unwanted files.

If you require more exact instructions on how to do this post your Windows version details....

If you can, try upgrading your hard drive. In most laptops it isn't that hard (recently I upgraded the hard drive in my sister's Macbook, real pain in the neck.) to upgrade simple things such as hard drives and RAM.

Screenshots TGA's are huge ... delete all your Screenshots TGA's ... once they are on Photobucket you no longer need them in your Trainz files.

My GF 2 Gb Ram, 100 Gb hard drive fills up really quickly

There is another thing that soon eats up hard drive space, but I would advise caution if you decide to alter it - it's System Restore.

It is possible to reduce how much space it takes in System Properties (XP) or System Protection (Vista/7)

Another thing to do is uninstall all your crapware and trialware. The garbage that manufacturers put in a computer slows them down and eats up disk space.
