Just a question of curiousity and general interest.
I am running Trainz TS12 on a Dell XPS720 which is pretty much dedicated to the job (other specs available if interested). I have tried over the years to run Trainz on a number of laptops and all had severe limitations however, I recently bought a Dell Inspiron 15R / 7520 for reasons other than Trainz. I also use an external HD as my backup from various pcs. After a recent disaster trying to upgrade TS12 from 49922, I decided it would be a good idea to have a duplicate instance of TS12 on the external HD.
What I was unprepared for was the Dell Inspiron Notebook did as good a job with TS12 (on the Ext HD) as the XPS720 did. In fact whereas the XPS720 occasionally crashes (Trainz has experienced a problem and needs to close), the Notebook has yet to crash. As my expertise is not in the technical side of IT, I am curious to know whether having Trainz on an external HD has any relevance.
Many thx for any thoughts. Regards. Colin.
