run around train distance

is there a way to get a engine to run around a train in a smaller distance when it goes past the set of points for them to change it leaves a large distance which is about twice the length of the engine but when not under ai control i can change the points with the engine alot closer and dont need so much room thnx

Be sure the points lever is just outside the spline circle on the approach side and placing an invisible signal close to the buffers at the end of the track helps a lot

In Surveyor under Tracks: Large Button on Right ( Trackmark mode), Advanced: set trigger radius. I set all mine to 1.0 and it seems to work for me.

For some types of Buffer/Railends you can adjust the Radius which I think is set at 20 Metres.

thanks for the replys i got it to stop in a shorter distance but when i looked at how long the station would be i noticed it would be to long for the station on the route im makeing might just use a dmu instead
