RR Mods Well Cars

I was just discussing with a friend of mine about the well cars at RR Mods and we're trying to figure out how to make them intrractive with the PL Industries. Does anyone know how to make them work. They unload fine but they won't load. Anyone else have this problem?

Ya was gonna say reconfiguring a P/L industry isnt that hard I actually did one for these and jr s wells for personal use...

Hi Wyonate --

The draw back with LARS and ProtoLARS is that they will only produce and consume commodities for which they are scripted. These commodities may or may not correspond to the commodities that the well cars have been configured to carry.

On the other hand "Multiple Industry New" can use all the commodities in your Trainz folder, giving it much more flexibility though some find it a problem to configure correctly.

No, that don't help. Everything else works and I'm not worried about container movements. I don't even run trainz 12. I convert everything to 06 cuz I've got to much invested in 06 to just throw it out. I have converted JR's well cars and containers to work in 06 and they work with the PL industries because I added the JR containers to USLW's PLCDK Intermodal. But RR mods well cars don't work. I have never been been able to get them to work.

Do your guys's well cars from rr mods work with a PL industry? I'm gonna just try to change all the loads is the config file and see if that works.

My experience with the PL/LARS is they will work with any commodity that has the correct product-category, category-class & instance configured in the products config. I have not have had a train car not loaded with any commodity, when properly configured.

I guess I'll have to go thru the well cars and manually put the product in. I figured they were already set up for JR's containers. I have never had a problem with any other cars except these. I don't like the Multi Industry new because the unloading process takes to long and I've got other industries that need service.

I redid the config file to make work and... nope. They don't work. Its gotta be something in the script.

After some research, I think I found what the problem was for me. I don't have the orginal configs so I have nothing to compare them to. If there is a script call out in the config, remove it and see what happens.

I have the same problem, I can get the JR cars to work with the PLCDK Intermodal but can't get the RRmod wells to work, I use SPORBUST's splines, TPR's wells, and JR's splines and wells and they all work, so I just use those and don't use RRmod's wells. I have edited the config files of the PLCDK Intermodal and the RRmod wells and still no go. I use portals to introduce the intermodal trains to the route, run around them and go, works great for me except the RRmod cars.

I haven't got a chance to look yet but there might be a script extension in the config file to delete. I'll look tomorrow and if I find it, I'll post it oo here cuz I know of quite a few people that really like these cars but don't use them cuz they don't work. I posted on RRMods Facebook page but all the said was that they weren't really designed to work with the PL industries (Idk why, I figured everyone used them lol) and to post here or on their forums. I choose to post here cuz there is far more people. Anyhow, if I find a solution I'll be sure to post it here.
