The switcher has a single road in and two roads out. The script moves the path from left to right and back so traffic actually changes lanes. You will need two extra spline points on each road spline placed very close to the switcher. I am putting together a TRS22 version to demonstrate how a multiple-lane road junction could work. My original ATLS Demo is a bit old now and needs updating.
Hey all, I'm still having ATLS issues and I must be missing something obvious!
My original T-junction plus tram lines attempt was incorrect as I had used invisible track instead of invisible road traffic splines by accident. I replaced the traffic route track with road splines and that caused traffic to flow but not stop.
I thought I would try something less complex so built a crossroads with four routes, one in each direction and two phases - the north and southbound together as phase 1 and east and westbound together with phase 2 (no turning traffic here just straight on for this test.) I cut the road spline to insert a stopper (the original, default one by Boat) and ensured the spline direction matched for each route. I then connected a short section of invisible rail track to each stopper and then added the new ATLS Slave Trigger (TRS19) to each track and then configured the slaves for the same channel and set them up with incremental route numbers, one for each (1-4). Finally, I added a set of traffic lights by each stopper and configured them for the same route number as the slave they are adjacent to.
Traffic flows in the right direction but only one of the stoppers works and that never allows the cars to move again. I have attached a number sign to each set of traffic lights to identify the route numbers. Note I have also raised the stoppers above the road surface level so the traffic splines can be clearly seen. I have checked both the traffic light and slave route numbers several times but looks ok.
Any suggestions would be most welcome, I'm hoping to be able to create some urban tram scenes so getting things flowing will be useful!
Morning Gary, just so we understand, you are trying to setup a set of traffic lights? ie One road going N/S and the other going E/W? N/S stops while E/W runs and then the N/S goes while E/S stops?
From what I remember, having multiple slaves on the same channel confuses things. You might want to use a single slave and connect that to each of the stoppers via the invisible track. I do that kind of setup for level crossings, and it works fine.
For traffic control I use one controller set to channel 1 and 2 phases. ALL the slaves are set to channel 1 with N-S on phase 1 and E-W on phase 2. Haven't had any issues whatsoever. Crossings on the other hand each have their own controller and their own channel (no phases).
I have just put together a new multi-lane traffic junction using the ATLS system by boat. There is still one problem to sort out and then it should be ready for the DLS. I have added to the junction some pedestrian crossing lights on each foot crossing. These work in conjunction with the traffic light sequence. This has been created with TRS22 Plus build 118660.

Instead of four routes with separate slaves and stoppers I have connected the stoppers together and one slave for each phase.
I will now give my more complex junctions the same treatment and also look forward to Stagecoach's updated route with ATLS, which will be most useful in configuring my junctions.
Wow, excellent job, I think it's too complicated for me to work out. I just had a quick look at the configuration and the settings in the ATLS Controller, it's way above my head, but thank you so much for letting us see all your hard work.

I have examined all the components of your junction and made a note so I will hopefully be able to use the same technique - so you are using a separate slave for each stopper with 8 traffic routes plus the three pedestrian crossings and using the ATLS trigger object rather than the track object ATLS trigger I have been using. But that is most ingenious and will help to bring my urban scenes to life, UK or my current Eastern European adventures. I've been building my fictional UK route for years and fancied something a bit different for a break.
