Hi, I dont know if i am in the right sub forum.. otherwise excuse me then, i want to know if i am driving a route howto know how and where i can load goods and where to unload..because there are soo many different kind of goods.. thanks

Use the Waybills tab. That will show you what is needed where. Also, I do believe there might be a list some place made by Sniper. But I cant say where it is.

Thanks, but i have another question, if i unload for example coal, where can i new coal to load up? and this is also with all the goods you can transport..

The author responds

"You would have to find a coal mine. I'm not actually sure if there is one on PO&N."

But of course there is a coal mine on PO&N. PO&N is possibly the most interactive route on the Download Station. Look for Kohlmine, it's on the upper level, slightly north-east of Port Ogden. There is also a coal loader at Port VanDenH. Refer to the map that comes in the folder containing the route.

The interactive industries are designated by yellow markers between the tracks. To see if they are configured to consume or produce commodities:
In Surveyor, use the Objects flyout, click on the "?" and click on the industry.
In Driver, Ctrl-Right Click on the industry.

In the sessions for the route not all industries are configured - only the ones that are needed by the session will produce or consume commodities.

If you want to delve into configuring interactive industries and freight cars this illustrated tutorial that I did some time ago might help:

Tell me if this helps.

Is this in one of my sessions?

If it is, all the industries need by the session will be configured to produce and consume the commodities required by the session. The session will give details of what you are required to do, for example:

Chuck and Joe, Dispatcher here.
Load the flats with lumber at the mill, Ind Chippewa Falls 01, and the log cars with logs at the log pond, Ind Chippewa Falls 03.
Head east to Port Ogden. Unload the lumber at the Timber Wharf, Ind Port Ogden Timber 03. Leave the flats there.
Unload the logs at the upper level, Ogden South, at the lumber plant, Ind Ogden South Lumber 02.
Reload the log cars with containers at the container depot, Ind Ogden South Container. Unload them back at Ogden, Ind Ogden Container Depot 02.
Sign off at Ogden Loco.
Class 1 railroad trains will be heading westwards on the main line. You must give them priority at all squeeze points.
Dispatcher out.

If it is not one of my sessions the industries will not be configured.

"If i click on a train ( ai driven) and select ash Vandenh it says no path to selected destination ?"

PO&N don't work this way! You are expected to put your butt in the Engineers seat and actually drive the locomotive (and we all use Cab Mode, don't we?). The AI in the sessions is to provide an additional challenge and interest along the way.

Phil,
i like your postings very much. Thank you for taking the time and trouble to share your knowledge. I have tried to access your posting

http://rapidshare.com/files/438627468/LARS_ProtoLARS_MIN_Tutorial.pdf

but it appears to be unavailable in that the request timed out. Rapidshare isn't responding rapidly enough. But since your posting was a long long time ago, who knows what the story may be?
Is the tutorial available at any other source? if not, could you repost it somewhere? Thanks
Michael
