Well it did it to me again! I have 2 routs I work on (Yakama Valley and the GN Electric over Stevens Pass both in Washington state). I have been working on one route for 3 weeks and today I went to start on the other one. Well there is only the compass indicator and blue sky and clouds no land at all. I went to content manager and there are no errors. And there is only Calm water, No cloud 01, United States for dependence . Then I went to the one session I had for that route and there is everything there. I don’t even know where to start. HELP! Thanks funnnyfarm

If I correctly understand you issue. All your stuff you have laid is on the session layer. That being assumed, you can edit the session and see all your stuff. While you are in the surveyor go to the stack of paper tab (this is the layer tab) and unlock all layers (the lock at the bottom of the slide out window). Then have the session layer selected, click on the merge button ( looks like 3 tracks going to one). This will merge the layers after merger select route layer and continue to edit.

Sorry Jamesfaa All there is ,is a few roads here and there. I backed it up two weeks ago so I get to do that work again. Have any idea what causes that? Every time I get out of surveyor I save the route but don't save or create a session. What would be the reason to create a session while your building a route? Any way thanks for your help funnnyfarm

Trains automatically makes a session each time (my experience in TS12) each time I make a new route or just edit the route layer. As for what might be causing it. Check what layer you are working on also be sure you are saving to both session and route layers. If you cancel either one it may not save correctly or at all.

Most of the time when you open a route it is on the session layer. All the work you then do will be on that layer. On saving what you have done is saved to the session rather than the route. The reason to save a session is it holds information on named assets like stations and rolling stock. I always load my routes from the session and then work on them and save both.
