Route building...2012 vs. 2010

Slave to my route
I'll be building a new Trainz box later this month (spces. will be in another thread) and I have bought the digital download of 2012. I haven't installed it on the laptop as I'm just waiting for the Trainz box to be finished before I install 2012. My question is will the route I'm building import into T2012? Should I stop building it now and wait till I get the new machine running or full steam ahead? The route is being build in native mode in T2010 and all the DEM's are now complete and the double mainline is 80% complete.

Only thing I can think of so quick is that maybe not all the 2010 build-in items are available in 12. I doubt there will be any other problems, but lets see what others have to say who do have both versions.

All the 2010 built in items were made available on the DLS for those that qualify.
Feel free to keep on building in 2010 as the switch over should be painless. Please note that I said "Should".
Congratulations on your promotion up to 12, you won't be sorry.

Dave,

I've already swapped over to TS12 for my building. I imported my content, including the built-in stuff, from TS2010 into TS12. There were a few things I had to fix, but once I got through that, there were no issues. In fact Auran/N3V has the TS2010 stuff now available as a download for TS12.

The only issue I have found with TS12 is that merging does not work with built routes. You can merge blank routes, such as those made with TransDem, but you can't merge a completed route. There's a bug with this that N3V is aware of and hopefully they'll have a fix for it at some time.

Now there's no reason why you can't continue to build in TS2010 and decide later to move to TS12 once the bug has been fixed. It's up to you.

I would keep building in 2010, were I you. I predict at most, you may have to repair some content, but the basic route should be fine.

Thanks everyone and it looks like full steam ahead. I can't wait to get the new system and get a look at T2012. On a passing thought will Pofig's trees have any problem in T2012? I love these trees and I use a good number of them on my route?

Dave

No problem with Pofig's trees. In fact McGuirrel's work fine as well. These both outshine the built-in SpeedFreakz I mean SpeedTreez!
