Rosworth Vale

Hello forum members,

I have just joined this forum having recently brought a copy of "Trainz 2004".

Have started to work the "driver session" (new day dawning) on "rosworth vale",
and have come across the following puzzle:-

When leaving the "coal-mine" heading west? the AI Trains come to a stop at the
junction with the "main-line" and do not go any further, even though i tell them to
"drive via the next trackmark" which i think is at the station (sorry but cannot recall
the station name).

Any suggestions as to how i can solve this?

Reuben.

Rueben,

Welcome to Trainz and the Forums.

In giving this answer I am assuming TS2004 is the same as TS2006, unfortunately I no longer have TS2004 installed so I cannot check.

If you hover the mouse pointer over the signal you will be given a cause for the signal being red. Is there another train on one of the mainlines taking over the junction?, check this in map view. Also, it might be some junctions are set incorrectly and you might have to change them before the signal will change.

An easy way to get past a red signal that will not change is to take manual control of your train until you get past the signal then continue the schedule. Some sessions will not allow you to pass a red signal without coming to a premature end but I do not think this happens in Rosworth Vale.

I seem to remember that in TS2006 all the yellow direction markers are facing the wrong way which will continually give problems when you try to follow the left track as is the norm in England. You, therefore, will need to go through the route and rotate all of the direction markers then save the route under a new name.

Hope this helps.

G'day Reuben,
My experience with Rosworth Vale was that there were a few junctions that were not properly signalled which caused problems with the AI drivers when two were seeking to use the same junction. If the help from dnevans doesn't allow you to do what you want then you might just have to try finding the solution in this area. And a big welcome to the world of Trainz! Let us know how you get on and more help will be available if needed.

Cheers
Russell.

Thank you for the replies, i have altered all the "direction markers" and everything is running properly now.

I have another question to put forward if i may.

What do the codes for the "red & cream" and the "blue & grey" coaches mean?

Where would i find out how to set-up the coaches into the correct order?

Regards.

Reuben.

A fairly complete description of the meaning of the codes is given on Wikipedia

As far as the setup of consists is concerned, there are probably as many versions as there are trains but simply there would be a Brake at each end, First class carriages would be at one end, usually the one that offers the first class passengers the shortest distance to walk at the main terminus, Second class at the other end and if used restaurant cars or buffet cars between them.

I used to have a link to consists but it seems to be dead, I will try to Google a replacement, perhaps you could also try and post back if you find one.

Google came up with these:
