Rolling stock allowed categories

Hi all,
Is this just a glich in my system or have others noticed this.
In CM09, editing config.txt, changing the tag "allowed_categories" has the opposite to what would seem normal.
Was trying to modify a particular hopper to load Alumina, so included KUID 31764:10040 (Bulk Loads) within "Allowed_categories". Not the resuklt I was expecting so included all "allowed_categories" resulting in a blank commodity list when editing this railcar loads in surveyor.
Bit more playing around has confirmed that including an "allowed_category" in config.txt will exclude those products from commodity list when editing loads in surveyor, the opposite of what is suggested.
Well it does in my sytem anyway.

Welcome your comments

Have a look at the BNSF alumina hopper kuid 46162:15002, should give you a better idea of the config set up.

I *believe* if you set the allowed_categories, the car will take any load from that category without having to explicitly list it in the config or picking it in surveyor.
If you want to restrict the load to specific products, use allowed-products instead.

Hi Fran,

Couldn't find 46162:15002 however was playing with 46162:15003. My point is the config.txt includes lines
allowed-categories
{
0 <kuid:-3:10091>
1 <kuid:-3:10042>
2 <kuid:-3:10044>
}
In fact commodity list in surveyor list only products within group -3:10040 which is not listed and hence is the opposite to what I was expecting.
Also undestand the process of allowed products and generally use this method. Was trying to come to grips with allowed categories and was tricked. Again as usual.
Anyway, think you are telling me that this is a well known anomaly, so I will live with it.

Many thanks
Geoff
