Roller Coaster ?

Dirty Deeds
Howdy Folk's,
Just wondering if any Route builder out there could explain to me how or if this can be achieved in game
http://www.flickr.com/photos/metrovick46/7470857988/in/pool-1143628@N22/ Pic Not Mine.
As you can clearly see there is a roller coaster affect to the track behind the loco's and although probably not a large grade can this be achieved in our game easily enough ?. I can not route build to save my self so i thought i'd ask here.
Thanks for any assistance.
Cheers Mick.:)

Mik, To answer your question, Yes it can.
It's just matter of adding grades to your tracks. I have this set up on the CSX route that I'm working on. In fact at one point, when a train is done descending a grade it goes into a slight climb. And yes this is real.

That roller coaster effect is probably exaggerated by the use of a telephoto lens or zooming in with the digital camera. Manually adding grade, as amrail2000 said, to your tracks can achieve this same look. Or use TransDEM to get the natural grade of the area your interested in. Here's a shot I took of "The Slide" at Gallitzin/Tunnel Hill Pennsylvania, which demonstrates the same effect without too much zooming:

It's an NS intermodal train heading East towards Altoona.

In game, you might be able to exaggerate the zoom/telephoto effect while in the cab looking out the front window and pressing the "Page Up" key.

Eezy peezy, lemon squeezy

.
Raise your track spline vertices at the centre of where you want the “hump” to be.

View your preferred train from another loco, in cab view (edit) in Driver, from a distance. Use the mouse wheel to zoom into the scene and you should be able to get something like this.

Thanks all maths and i do not get along so using the grade approach would result in misery lol, So i'll try the Eezy peezy, lemon squeezy approach by Casper. Thanks again every one.
Cheers Mick.
