RGB Value For Realistic Water

Vern

Trainz Maverick
For my current route project I really want to change the water colour from the somewhat aquatic default blue to a more realistic grey-green, as seen on inland lakes and rivers etc. Random twiddling of the RGB dials has not been all that successful, so wondered if anyone has found a magic combination of numbers to achieve this.

The closest I've come is R57, G88, B121 but still a tad on the blue side.

Thanks in anticipation.

Hi Vern: This is something you will always be confronted with..I go back and reajust the colors all the time. You know even electric surge will make a difference in the colors..But your right it would be neat if you had one setting for each tone, just punch a button..

Bob Cass :) :)

The problem is that Trainz does not change the colors by areas or sections. You color the water here ( a river) and the Ocean also get's the same color. It also goes for the sky. Heck, I would like to have cloudy skies at the mountain and blue sky at the beach. But no.. Can't do.

I find that colouring the ground under the water help's a lot, sand for the shoreline, blue for deep sea, dark brown or black for rivers and dark green to depicts weeds.
It gives it a kind of 3D effect.

Actually quite right, there's no numeric values for RGB on the dials (an item for Suggestion Boxcar perhaps?). However after a bit of twiddling to get the dials relative to each other where the numeric values would suggest, I have got a better grey top appearance.

I normally use the Creek texture to paint river and lake beds, unless I'm looking foe a more gravelly or pebbly appearance.
