Resources: UK Cab Rides

Vern

Trainz Maverick
The Railscene VHS collection has resurfaced on DVD:

Although mostly filmed in the 1980's/1990's still a useful resource as these contain the complete unabridged section of line as opposed to highlights.

Also of interest is the Audio CD which looks like it might answer what some forgotten classic traction (like the Blue Pullmans) actually sounded like.

Many thanks Vern for posting this.

I remember these, they were brilliant, I have some old videos of these around, they are the full routes from the cab window in real time, but they needed to be upgraded to DVD format as they were getting quite old, thankfully you have arrived with a decent website, so I know what I am getting for Christmas.

They need to make new ones of these, from today's modern trains, ECML, WCML, GWR and so on.

Thank you for sharing this Vern, and I do hope you are well.

Very well thanks Joe. I think some of them made it to DVD under the Kingfisher brand as I have the Waterloo to Exeter version which is on two discs. Some of the older VHS tapes I did transfer to DVD but I think these got lost during a house move. I've just ordered the Manchester to Barrow cab ride and will follow that up with the Barrow to Carlisle via Cumbrian Coast (now there's a route begging to be made!). The first one shot from the cab of a Class 31 the second from a Class 108 DMU, so heritage traction as well.

Hi Vern, good to know your doing well,

I hope you make this route in the future, as your Glasgow to Falkirk route was superb, now looks a little dated today, which is such a shame, as I had months of fun on that route back in the days of Trainz 2006... happy days they were.

Joe Airtime ;)

It's on my list unless someone else is giving it a dusting over... And of course if Vern is amenable to same.
