Reskin

Anyone able to do a reskin for me if I post the kuids of each locomotive? If you know what your doing it won't take long as the exact coating is on here just on a different locomotive, I will send you a picture of what the locomotive looks like in real life

Anyone help please, I'd do it but have tried and always stuff up so was hoping a nice person is here and it shouldn't take long for an expert to do it

Unless the person doing the reskinning is the original author of the asset, your request will in most cases be not possible.
Reason:
The transferring of the (reskinned) asset outside how the author of the asset has defined is illegal.

You are probably better off...
A... asking help on how you can reskin the specific asset yourself.
Be sure to share as much detail about the asset (name+kuid) and what you have tried so far.
B... asking the original author if he/she would consider making another release based on the engine you have in mind.
C... build the engine yourself from the ground up.

In case of option A and C, be sure to post in the correct forum.
In case of option B, use either PM or the email address as found inside the asset (so not a public post)

The first step is to contact the original creator of the locomotive(s) (option B in Oknotsen's list above) if that is possible. You can ask (politely) if he/she would consider reskinning the locomotive(s) to your specification.

If they are unable, for whatever reason, then seek permission from them to allow you to do the reskinning yourself. This is absolutely vital if you intend to redistribute the reskins through the DLS or any third party sites.

Unfortunately, there is a rather unpleasant label, "gimme pig", attached to users in this forum who request other to do work, such as reskinning, that they should be doing themselves. I know that you stated that you "have tried and always stuff up" but perhaps it is simply a case of trying again with advice from others. That is how all we all learned how to reskin. I have done it through learning by trial and error and I am the first to admit that I am no Da Vinci at the art. It depends on how much of a perfectionist you are.

I'm not sure if the creator is still involved with Trainz but can still have a go at contacting him, if completed well it would look awesome.

D... asking for someone to reskin the asset but send only the images they created, and completing the update your self.

Changing the image still does not make it your image.

That depends on how much you change it. If you change only a portion, then just send that portion. But if you read the original post you will realise that OP is asking for the image to be replaced, not changed, and in that case option D is a very practical, perfectly proper, way to do it.
