Replacing Safetran Crossing Signals

This came across my YouTube feed. I would have enjoyed doing this kind of work because I have a deep fascination with signaling in the train world. Oh btw check out the steam locos when the camera moves. They look museum quality, and that is my guess as to what this location is.

That does look like a museum or tourist railroad. Why did railroads replace some clapper bells with those fake ones on crossing signals? They sound like a recording. When a clapper bell stops, the sound fades away but on those newer bells the fake chime like sound just abruptly stops. I guess it was maintenance reasons. But you can still find old bells out there at crossings.
