Replacing objects with another

In classic surveyor You could replace a group of similar assets with a new one by using the command "bulk asset update/replace". In the new surveyor s2 I see how you can replace one asset with a new one, but I don't see how to replace a group of similar assets with a new one all in one operation?

double click the asset in question and you see in the vicinity similar one's highlighted ,not sure if it goes beyond the current basemap where the item was highlighted.

For a single item that works fine as Roy explained, but for a larger number of items, such as replacing lots of signals, go back to Surveyor 1.0 it's quicker and easier that way.

Thanks. Double clicking works, at least in the vicinity of several baseboards. Will check out how far out it goes.

I was trying to find alternatives for Surveyor 1.0. I find there are several things which Surveyor 1.0 does that is quicker and better.

The Bulk Replace and Random Scenery tools are still in Classic, but what else are you finding quicker or better in Classic than in S20?

ofc its often a matter of getting used to (takes time)

Easier, quicker, better in S1:
-making, moving consist
-water
-Tracklaying, editing
-rulers, cameras
-the asset viewer
-bulk asset replace
-random scenery
-changing skin of a train if it has texturereplacement

Easier, quicker, better in S2:
-adding/deleting baseboards
-ground texturing and height adjustment
-finding a used/missing item (eyedropper is great)
-copying/placing scenery (scrap book is powerful)
-manipulating scenery

I struggle a lot with countless useless repairs on track and roadsplines(point) heights changing constantly
I try to figure out how to set/fix the vertex (splinepoint) height and not jumping around like a grasshopper when things in the nw=ear and further away neighborhood change.
In settings the track vertex height I never saw doing anything at all.

GM i did see a few times bulk asset replace i think it was when struggling with water in S2.0 and sought what is that doing over there but not find it when try to look for it....sight.

S2 is really good at adding and manipulating objects. Adds a lot of flexibility that S1 did not offer.
The eye dropper is a useful tool for me.
The new water feature is very interesting once you get the hang of it.

S1, at least for me, is better at:

Bulk asset replacement. This can be done in S2 but requires more keystrokes.
Adding random scenery
Editing properties of assets. One less key stroke, plus you don't have to hunt for the ant sized object to click on.
Laying track. The spline circles make it easier to space and align track.

As it only selects assets in the vicinity you can go to another area while they are still selected and hold shift and select the same asset and it will select the assets in that area too.
