Replacing a switch.

I have a new route, and one of the switches works backwards. I set it for the train to go left and it goes straight, set it to go straight and it goes left. My question is, how do I replace the switch? I am a beginner at this so I need kind of a step by step how to do it.

Check the spline points at the switch, drag them left or right and you will probably find the track is looping over itself say to the left before actually going right, happens sometimes and easily missed.

Yeah, I hate that when it happens.

Not to my surpise I see it is a turnout/switch on the inside of a curve. Probably your siding actually starts going off to the right for a few inches before going left.
When this happens to me I create, temporarily, the main as striaght and then connect the siding to the left. When that is done I then put the curve in the main line.
