Replace road that can't be selected

I have a problem, I want to replace a default road in an older route but the road is not in the list in surveyor, it's called Road No Traffic and it's black with white dashed lines. How can I replace the road with a different one if I can't do it in replace assets? Only other way would be manual but there's a lot of road. Any way to obsolete the built-in road with a different one? I want to use a more modern double yellow line road. I don't really want to replace the road by hand.

I use DS Road 01 NO TRAFFIC kuid 342.53:37048 in TS 2010 or there is built in TS2012 Road no traffic by Auran kuid -25:775 maybe either of these could be your missing asset road. I often use replace asset but make sure you copy across the asset title from the listing and not from the top line description.
Find either asset in CM and download as 5 star which should then place it in the surveyor listing under favourites.

The no traffic road by Auran doesn't show up in surveyor list but it's there in CMP, a route uses that road that I want to replace. Replacing the kuid in config table doesn't work, and since the road doesn't show up in surveyor list I can't use replace assets tool to replace it. Disabling the road does nothing as well. I don't want to have to replace every freaking section of road manually. The route creator used half Road USA which is on the list and replaceable and half Road No Traffic which cannot be found on the surveyor list thus cannot be replaced using the tool. Certain roads like YARN Yarnish get buried under the ground at spots though when you use replace assets with Road USA but not so much roads like the ones by Neuman and maybe gfisher not sure about the cwhitedog roads didn't try those.
 
Just a thought.... Maybe you could down load the auran road as a 5star item, even though it is built in. OR you may have disabled it by acident reactivate it and see if it then appears. I have never tampered with configs so cant help there.

To make the road useable in surveyor
- In CM open the object for editing in explorer
- open the file config.txt (using a simple texteditor like notepad)
- remove the line 'secret 1'
- save and close the file
- in CM commit the object

Using 'revert to original' you could restore the original behavior at a later time.

Another thing that might be in the config is 'Privilidges' and then "permit listing 0'. Change the '0' to '1', then you can use 'Replace asset'. It will not show in the surveyor listing if you have it disabled.

Had another thought.
If you import the route into TS2010 then locate the missing road in CM, use asset replace, save route,produce a CDP and reimport into TS12.
This should then have removed the road you do not want and replaced it with the one available to you in surveyor.
 
It worked by changing secret 1 to secret 0. I was able to replace the road. But, the road no traffic is a few mm higher than most custom roads like aashto, yarn, Yarnish, neuman, cwhitedog, etc. some of those roads are buried into the ground at spots due to the road being lower. Only way to fix is to manually adjust them and fill in ground if necessary. I'm also replacing default crossings with better ones like bnsf50, yarn, Yarnish. The replace asset tool doesn't work for crossings so they must be replaced one at a time and adjusted for height easiest way is to place new crossing on top of old and delete old and reattach track and roads.

Have a try with the "C+ RN" assets, they are a bit higher than many roads and you can add road markings and / or re-skin to your own requirements.
