Replace asstes

I am trying to replace trees I do not like on a route with different trees. I saw a thread somewhere that told how to "replace assets". I found the pull-down menu, but I cannot figure out how to populate the boxes with the items to be replaced and what to replace it with. Can anyone help?

You have the replace assets box open.
Using the get tool , use it on the tree you want to replace. You will now have the tree name highlighted, drag the name from the selection menu (not the top) over to the replace assets box.
Pick which tree you want and drag that (its name) into the replace asset with box.
Select replace (or whatever it says).
