Repair Patch Ability - Potentially useful fix if a core patched file becomes corrupt.
I have found a hidden feature in the Auran Patcher that allows a repair of a patched installation (This should apply to TS2009, TS2010 and TS12).
This can come in useful if one of the core files is damaged since patching.
Please note though: if you have more than one of the versions mentioned above, it may not work for you.
The patch file you will need to use needs to be the latest patch you installed for the version you wish to repair. For example, if you are using TS2009 SP4, you would need the 41844_to_44653.exe file.
The process is as follows, and requires use of the Command Prompt, as well as a copy of the relevant patch file. It's best done if the patch file is stored in the root folder of a drive.
1.Open Command Prompt (as administrator if using Windows Vista/7)
2.Type the following in:
<patch location and filename> /r
Then press Enter.
An Auran Patcher window will appear - do not worry about the red line at the top, as this is normal.
It will then undergo a scan of the installed files, and should then fix any files which are corrupt or missing.
Hopefully this will assist others who run into this situation.
EDIT: This may also help if you cannot load Trainz after an unexpected system shutdown (power cut etc)
Moderators - if this is in the wrong place, or badly titled, please make the required changes.
