REMOVAL OF PORTALS

Hello there - I am new to Trainz but have recently taken Trainz for the Mac. My problem is this: being a Brit I gravitated to the Hawes Junction game and now wish to introduce a circular line from the portal at Hawes station. I have laid the track and it all works but the Portal Entry and Portal Exit ensures that all trains disappear from the line. Is it possible to remove the Portal Entry and Portal Exit to allow me to run trains Eastward from Hawes Station and for them to travel round my loop and reappear at Hawes?
Remember I am on a Mac which is new for Trainz.

Object tab, object mode, click on 'x' and delete the offending portal.
Hopefully they did not re-design Surveyor for Mac.

I wish it was this simple for textures:eek:

...or just leave the portals where they are and in surveyor (objects tab) click on the question mark icon and then click on the portal(s) and change their settings so that they do not produce or consume trains

Nice one Andy, another one for the knowledge-base;)

G'day Ghost42, 4ndlloyd & tonytony,

...it is, indeed, a neat solution and further, if I recall from the various odds and sods that I have read about the capabilities of Portals, it should be possible (in that same "properties Box") to make a Portal spawn a specific train (at a set time or after a designated period of time - once it has passed into some other Portal), which makes the need for the 'loop' tonytony has created completely redundant...

Hi Jerker, The advantage here is that if you are the driver a coffee break could be written into the properties...;)

Removal of Portals

Thanks for the replies you guys and I have to admit I eventually found out about Portals. Searching the Web I found a site at - trains.0catch.com/tutorial.html - which has a comprehensive and very informative set of working instructions, something that is really missing in Aurans system.

Which brings me to another little query. After looking at earlier versions of Trainz on the web the work boxes on the right of the screen in Surveyor have an extra small paanel between the list of items and the item picture which appears to allow a sort of the items. For example key in 'stations; and all items relating to stations appear. I have not yet found any such sort on my Trainz system
Any solutions
Thanks again for you assistance guys

Hi,

This search panel is now located above the item list in each tab. Between the list of items and the title of the tab.

Also, there is a Content Search Filter, on the top left side of the drop-down menu that is in Surveyor and Driver. The Surveyor top menu is the only menu to feature the Content Search Filter.
