g'day all,
had a day out at Ravenshoe
loco is a D17 tank named "Cappella" built in 1925
it's wood fired as opposed to coal fired
it was an enjoyable day out rumblering through the aussie bush
here's the link http://ravenshoesteamrail.com.au/HOME.2.0.html and some photos

Good photos there - I wonder if they are allowed to run during total fire ban periods? I'm guessing that is a spark arrestor atop the funnel.

FNQ! How awesome.
I lived there for 10+ years!
Paradise indeed.
All the best to the folk of the Ravenshoe Steam Railway \o/

Good one, Patchy..

I passed through Ravenshoe a few weeks ago.. Nothing happening that day unfortunately..

From your photos the old D17 looks great.

It's very difficult to keep these old beauties in top shape. My last visit to ARHS at Rosewood depressed me a little; seeing all this stuff rusting away, despite the efforts of the society volunteers.. The main bits, fortunately, were still in reasonable shape.
