Ive got some music from RT3 but I would like some more since the music that would go along with the some of the videos that I have planned are limited. Free music is a big :Y: as well as Digital downloads. Im looking for old music that uses 1 or more of the following instruments:
Banjo
Harmonica
Jaw Harp
accustic Guitar
Acorrdian (for some cajun Music)
and some sound effects like: Track construction, locomotive operation, ect.

Links would be greatly apreciated.

Thankfully,

I would have loved to help but my copy of Ableton Live 7 has lost all the instroment downloads so apart from the tunes I've already done I'm basicly stuck. I wouldn't mind writing music for peoples Trainz Youtube vids as long as I got a mention (any publicity is good publicity, just look at any rap artist).

Please could someone explain how you create videos from Trainz so I can post vids on YouTubem what software to use (prefebly freeware us musicians are always strapped for cash, suffering for our art :hehe:) and how to do it coz I'm confused

I'm sure if you use old enough stuff then the copyright is no longer valid but I can't remember how old the tune needs to be. Youtube are starting to get very on top about copyright, all the tunes I usually listen to on there keep disappering

Thanx
Andy :D:D

Im pretty sure if I give credit to the arists and company involved I should be ok I learned that the hard way from my Canadian National Railroad Seires :o every so often (like every 3 days) I would get an Email from Youtube notifying me of a copy right claim and I also have a Crazy train Music Video and that hasn't gotten 1 claim as of yet. but the canandian National Railroad series was a pain to go and find audio that fit so Im pretty sure if credit is given where it needs to be I should be fine.

Citing the author of music, or any copyrighted material, while still using said material is still copyright infringement. Regardless if you "give proper credit" it's still using the material without permission.

But, I'll reiterate what Overloard stated, it isn't my wallet.

I know my stuff when it comes to Copyrights, believe me. Save yourself some trouble.

Regards,
Dillon

ok is there a site that would have like procedures for correctly citing or asking companies for permition to use thier material? if so could I get a link?

The best way to request the permission to use content is contacting the folks who own the material. In fact, that's usually the only way.

what about free ware sound mixers, I could just use some free ware loops and put them together in a sequence (kind of like garage band on Macs) and give credit to the company that produced the program and loops

Any loops, free or pay are always royalty free or the companies that make them would have to have HUUUUGE e-mail inbox capacities for their helpdesk because of the thousands of e-mails they would get asking permission!:hehe:

Ok that will work I have some experiance mixing music in Media arts at school. I just need to get the software from Free ware sites (I know quite a few:hehe:)

I've got something for everybody...keep the copyright talk to yourselves, its better for all of us. Copyright laws are often very in depth and confussing...I'm not saying it is okay to violate them, it just it gets tiring argueing about it.
