RailDriver

There is a beta driver that mostly works but it will leave the engine file of the loco you drive "open for edit".

Please provide us with full details of which files need fiddling, & how they need fiddling !!!

Please provide us with a link to download this RailDriver 64bit driver. Thanks...

Loren, To the best of my knowledge P I Engineering (US) still haven't sorted out the issue with 64bit OS's. One of PI's employees posted in the forum a few months back and said that PI was still trying to sort the issue out. The post inferred that Auran was partly to blame, and that PI & Auran would probably need to work together to get the issue resolved...
Cheers, Mac...

Let's be quite clear what we are saying.

I've recently installed 64 bit Win 7 Ultimate.

Within that I have installed all my 32 bit programmes and utilities including Trainz TS2010, so presumably these are working in 32bit XP compatability mode.
Thus I only need the 32bit TS2009 Raildriver and I've been running it all morning with no difference in Raildriver behaviour than when I had TS2009 and Raildriver in 32bit XP Pro.

So I found this thread when it was new and was totally blown away at the fact that Rail Driver wasn't working in 2010 with windows 7 64bit. I was quite angry in fact. Especially since I had just bought this computer pretty much for the sole purpose of running 2010 and RD.

So I sent an email to PIEngineering inquiring about the lack of driver support for 64 bit machines. The responded by saying that there is currently no support for 64 bit machines, etc, they're working on a driver and something about auran being difficult.

Anyway, the purpose of reigniting this thread is to let everyone know, in case you didn't know already because I just found out now, that on the PI website there is now a driver for TS2009. I downloaded it and installed it into 2010 and it works fine. I can't really understand why they're saying there is a problem. So anyway, for everyone out there still wondering if you're 300$ controller will work with your 1500$ computer and your 50$ game, IT WILL WORK FINE! :D

Quick edit, You will not need to rearrange any files either. Just download the 2009 driver from the site and install into the 2010 directory, configure the controller and enjoy!

I'm now using my new PC, a Dell laptop with Windows 7 and I tried using my RailDriver on TS2009 and when I move any of the controls, nothing happens!

Just installed raildriver into Win7 Ultimate 64 bit and it works fine out of the box with 2010.

I have tried to install the T2009 RD driver software into Trainz 2010 folder, but I have had no joy, unlike previous versions

Raildriver on Win7 64bit.

I have just installed the Raildriver Cab Controller I received today however there is no TS2010 install option so I took the TS2009 option as being the nearest, however I have had no go with Raildriver. I have been searching the forums but have only found 'Yes it will/No it wont work' but nothing to give me clear answers on how to get it to work & am also going round in circles.

I am currently holdinfg off on a new machine because of this. Is this something that I should be worrying about if I want to use my RD with Trainz on a new machine?

LouP

Raildriver

Does anyone know how to install the 2009 driver into both 2009 & 2010 simultaneously (Win 7) cause it only wants to reinstall or remove.
