PerRock, I don't have a recent recorder. With mine, I have to plug the video and audio cables that were supplied into a Video Capture Card in my computer. That's because it's analogue.As yours is digital and the videos will already be AVI files, the camera should have been supplied with a USB cable to plug into the camera and the computer.
Do that and you should hear a series of USB plonks.
If Windows says the port is ready, go to My Computer and look down the bottom (depending how My Computer is set up). Under External Devices (or similar) the camera should be listed as a drive. Just treat it like any other drive. Access it, copy the movies and paste to your hard disk.
If Windows says It's trying to load devices, you will need the drivers and software supplied with the camera. Read the manual to see how you should install the drivers. It can vary for camera to camera. When finished, open the software, plug in the camera and copy the stuff over.
It should be really simple.
