Quite the spectacle of units at MotivePower today

I will preface this by saying that I did not go on to MPI property to take these photos. There's a road that runs along the fence up a hill, and I took the photos from the road.

Seen here, UP 9440 appears to have recently been washed/repainted, as they haven't even put "9440" on the side of the cab yet! What's more, the nose doesn't even have the UP shield yet! The only way I know the number of the unit is the front number boards. Also worth noting is the virtually bare CSX YN2 SD40-2 #8088 to the left, and the super-rare CSX YN1 SD40 #4606 to the right. Here are more detailed shots of 8088 and 4606.

And then, there was this to-be CSX SD40-3 in primer paint on one of the work tracks:

All in all, quite the sights at MPI today.

9440 is a freshly repainted C40-8W, It will probably get wings for the nose. They're also waiting on the special number decals as well. I see that 4606 has been completely gutted. No DB's, they ripped the traction motors out and most likely I think the engine is gone as well. Can't say whats happening to the SD40-2, but she looks set to become an SD40-3.

Did anyone noticed that behind #8088 is one of four LNG-Powered MK1200G's sitting in the background. I know that they were returned to MPI and hopefully they won't be scrapped, but instead find a new owner. Shoot, if I was the head of a switching or industrial railroad, and I had a customer who ships LNG, I'd purchase at least one of the MK1200G's.

I do believe that two of them already have been scrapped. The two at MPI are the final two left. They were sent back by LAJ if I remember correctly. I'm not sure of their displacement at this time, but I do know that they are still there and have not been scrapped.
