Quetsion about merging routes

Hello and thank you in advance for any help.

LWVRR was kind enough to make a HOG map for me but it is in two sections. I'm trying to figure out how to merge the files together. When I open one of the routes and click on the menu to "merge files" it asks me which other route to merge it with. I pick the second route and a window appears with the two maps together but that is as far as I can go, the check button at the bottom is greyed out so I cannot proceed any further. Any Ideas?
On the merged map there are some areas within the map that are colored pink/orange.

the two bits of route need to be connected to each other = two bits of the route side by side before it will join

The pink/orange areas is where the two maps overlap each other. Use the tiny little arrows to move the map being merged until it aligns where you want ti to attach to the map in memory. Once that happens, the Check button will light up and you can click to exit.
