Queensland Rail N-Scale

Hi all,

I am really interested in QR N-Scale, but no-one seems to make it. I asked around, but no-one has many plans for the future, because there is not enough demand for it. But I know quite a few people who like QR, and who wish there was more in the range of N-Scale.

So, if you like QR, and you want to see more of it in N-Scale, post here!

The major problem with models of Australian rolling stock and locomotives is the cost, which is why my dad is collecting American locos and rolling stock instead.

If the cost of Aussie stuff wasn't so dear, more people would probably be interested in it, but probably HO over N scale. I much prefer HO myself.

Ah yea most of the stuff i know must of been sold out:) Why not scratchbuilding ? Might sound hard but once you cut the first peice you want to finish the rest of it ;)

You're right, that does sound hard... maybe I should just build the NSW layout, and wait and see what QR N-Scale comes out later...

Start with buildings then. When i started i did a coal mine ( which i still haven't finished ) And soon enough you'll get confidence, Little over 5 months ago i diddn't know how to cut with brass and now im scratch building a NSWGR D59 out of the stuff;)

And age dosen't matter im only 15 myself.

I always wanted to own a N gauge model of a QR steam engine.
Mainly the A10, DD17 or the Beyer Garratt.

On once heard that someone made a N gauge model of the DD17, but appart from a 'proposed' image, I have never seen any details about it.

I would like to scratch built, but I sort of don't like the idea of buying a perfectly working locomotive, just to break it appart just to build something different.

I know you can buy chassies, but none seem to be what I'm looking for.
