Puzzling return - very odd!

When I go into Trainz and the Surveyor start screen with the routes I have discovered that a route I have built appears twice. Both the same name. On checking in the DLS both are exactly the same date, time and have their own sessions attched (a difference there).

It gets curioser. The same thing has happened with a route I downloaded and used. Two exactly the same. Anyone else had this happening?

Double trouble.

Hi rjhowie2!

Yes, I've also experienced the same problem from time to time lately although from memory it's only been since I downloaded the latest service pack. It's got me stymied why it does this although my installation of TRS 2009 hasn't been the most reliable from the start and I just thought it was another manifestation of a very bug filled program.

Like you I'd be interested to know the cause although it's not causing me any real problems.

Have you tried rebuilding your database in CMP? That seems to fix all kinds of weirdness with assetts that creep in from time to time.

Hmmm. Did you really check in the DLS?

I'd say that you've multiple copies of each route, as indicated by the fact that the two instances of the route you created have different sessions.

When you down load a route and add anything the kuid will change to your own kuid. This will show two versions of the same route. One will have a small c next to it, this tells you it has been altered by you and has your kuid number. Sometimes your own creations will write a different kuid into your map, normally it will have a -2: or similar at the begining of the kuid. Check the config of both maps for the kuid number and also check the sessions for the map kuids in their config file.

Well mjolnir why would I want to make up a story that I checked the DLS? No point to your musing there at all.

Anyway both copies show different start dates but the same modifcation date. A whole list of sessions is given too. Once copy lists 2 sessions and other 12 giving all their names (these show up in the Surveyor list page). Don't see any wee 'c' showing. Both copies have the same starting kuid before the ":" and 2 different ones after. Now I am not sure which to keep and get round to uploading. Will just have to go round both in Surveyor mode to see if I can spot any little differences to guess which to go out. Faukts do show both they work.

This would be correct for the dates, the map was updated and later you saved with a different kuid but still the same map. Only the sessions where altered so different names and dates. As you say you dont have a c against any of the maps then I dont think you have put your kuid number into the edit kuid section. The first part of any kuid should show your number after you alter a map or session. As the map shows the same modification date then they are both the same, you can move the 2 sessions to the other map by opening the config file of the session and change the map kuid to that of the other map.
