Problems with pweiser's PRR P5a electric locomotives

There are 2 issues. The first is disappearing detail as you move the camera away. In picture 1 all is fine. In picture 2 the railings have disappeared. In picture 3 the color has changed to grey. The other issue is that unless the camera is virtually right next to the locomotive the wheels do not turn. Are there any suggestions for fixes?

Thanks for your replies.
1. If you click on Google Photos you should be able to see the pictures. Please let me know if you cannot and I will find another way.
2. Forester. I'm not quite sure what you mean. I probably need to post the pictures without cropping them so you can get the feel for the distance.

I should mention that I found that Trainz Forge has a re-skin of these which fixes the disappearing details leaving the wheels not turning until the camera is next the the loco as the main problem.

I'm glad this isn't a script error! These were revised at least once, maybe twice to correct those.

This is almost certainly a LOD problem. The Trainz Forge version probably adjusts the LOD values in the .lm file, and the (main) bogey has either been left alone or not adjusted enough. You can make the main bogey display at full resolution by editing its config (the bogey's, not the locomotive's) to replace "bogey.lm" with "bogey.im" or by editing file bogey.lm to replace "0.7" with ".001". Though some Trainz versions kind of ignore those entries and decide on their own where to shift LODs...

Though recent versions seem more predictable, results of .lm-type LOD tables have always been a cr@pshoot, depending on screen resolution (I think). It was probably a mistake to give the main bogey of the P5a LODs, but the face count of the full resolution version with spoked wheels is very high.
