Problems w/ 2004 on Wind 7

Here's the problem I put 2004 on my new laptop.

(1) After installing I can't get the Content Dispatcher to extract any content.
(2) When I place a portal I can't set up the properties. I just get a plane window with the portal title. I was able to set the properties a few days ago but not anymore.
(3) I also can't get the engine I installed from WOT to show up, I've reinstalled this a few times, I comes up in Trainz Objects saying that it needs other parts, but I thought all of the parts came with it. I have no problem with this item on the desktop. It says it can't find the 'hud-library'.

Any help... please....

Umm

If you have the money/resources to purchase windows 7 why not get Trainz:2010 Engineers Edition? Just a thought...

How did you put in on the new laptop? Copy or install from disc?

I used the disc. I thought since I had 2004 already and it would work on a new machine why buy 2010. But if there seems to be something I can't fix maybe then I'll have to go with the new version.
