I used to have a similar problem in TRS2006 and it was because my Nvidia Graphics Card Drivers were out of date.Have you tried Updating your Drivers?

hi mate
i forgot about it after reformatting the drive
i will get them today sometime and see what happens
thanks
ron

hi all
upgraded the driver for the ati card

still the same

mp tunneltrack dark looks ok
mb finescale looks ok
the harlem line track looks ok

all the others are white as above

any ideas from anybody?

thanks
ron

Hi Ron
I can understand the problem in Surveyor, but it shouldn't effect Driver.

Check your slider bars in 'Options' or from the tab in Surveyor.
You can set your splines to show road, track Etc as white lines, as in your pictures.
Sometimes this fails to reset when you complete your track.
If this is the case move your slider bar to the right, it should show your tracks.

I realise its only with certain tracks, but if the poly-count is higher on these tracks it might be the cause.

Also: I noticed from your pics, that you have objects floating in mid-air. To prevent this increase your fog sliders.

Off hand its the only thing I can think of
Cheers

Hi Again,
This is completely off the cuff, but it sorted out a few problems for me with 2006.
No guarantees, but it may help.

If you are using an ATI card, you should have a 'Catalyst Control Center'.
Go to the advanced menu and check all your filters.
If they are set to 'Let Program Decide' change these to the max your computer can handle. Normally it won't let you go higher than that so its quite safe. However make a note of the original settings so you can revert if needed.

ATI cards, like all others, are set to default to suit a large variety of programs, but don't give the best results.
In Trainz for example, setting your 'Anisotropic Filter' to max, will stop the scenery 'Snapping into view'.

If you haven't got the CCC, let me know which ATI card your using and I'll post you a link for download.

As I said, this may not solve your problem, its 'hit and miss', but it will improve your overall performance.

Hope it works for you

Cheers
Pete

Hi Ron
Try this link.
Simply enter your details as shown on the page and follow the on-line instructions. IE: In the first box click on your Operating System, XP, Vista Etc. The second box will then give you further options to click on, after the third and final box, it will give you your correct download.
Don't forget, after you complete the info page, you should get a choice, 'Driver Only' or the complete kit (forgot the actual wording, but you should see what I mean). Choose the kit, which includes the CC and use the save option, I found it best to make a temp folder on your desktop for this.

Any problems, let me know via this post

Cheers

Hi Ron,

I beleive CC can access the Internet (ATI) directly.
Out of curiosity, disconnect from the Internet, shut down Anti-Virus programs and Firewalls, and try launching CC again.
If its OK, then you'll have to adjust your 'Allowed' in your Anti-Virus.

Talking about Anti-Virus, if your program contains its own Firewall, make sure that the 'Built-in Windows Firewall' is disabled or removed. Two firewalls on the same machine cause all sorts of problems.

Finally: Did you completely remove all your ATI old drivers, Etc. from your machine before installing the new set-up.
This task sounds daunting at first, and your machine will revert to very basic graphics, while the change-over is taking place.
However, it is an essential procedure and must be carried out for the new installation to work properly.
If you want, complete instructions are available from ATI, or I can dig them out and post them here.
Cheers
Pete.

Hi Ron,
Sorry I took a while to get back to you on this one, I've been searching around for a possible answer to your problem, including a visit to ATI.
So far, we have seemed to have tried everything, so at the moment I'm stuck.
If I discover anything I'll get back to you.
Cheers
Pete.

hi pete

thanks
for all the help

i may just have to bite the bullet and buy a better graphics card

if that is the problem

i still cannot get ccc to show

thanks for all the help

Hi Ron,
Out of curiosity; does it show up in the 'Start / All Programs list'
If it does, open the 'Basic' first, if it opens, switch to the advanced option from there.
Cheers
Pete
EDIT:: Also check that CC; is allowed in your Anti-Virus program, and you are set to Administrator in your user-name. I'm not sure, but as CC allows you (or anyone-else) to change your graphic set-up; one of these may block the program from showing.
